Stuck for what to buy someone? Tap a button and get ten ideas that suit them, their age and your budget.
UK, 6 November 2026: Chrimbo, the Christmas planner for your phone, has added personalised AI gift suggestions. The new feature is included free for every Chrimbo customer, with nothing extra to pay.
"Every year I end up staring at the same names on my list, wondering what on earth to get them," says Hetty MacLeod, Chrimbo's founder. "Now I can tap a button and get ideas that actually fit each person, with a reason for each one."
How it works
- One tap: on anyone's card in Gifts, tap "✨ Suggest gift ideas" and Chrimbo comes back with ten ideas.
- Personal: the ideas fit what you've told Chrimbo about that person, such as their age, who they are to you, their interests, favourite things, what they've asked for, what to avoid, their sizes and your budget.
- A reason for each: every idea comes with a short reason it suits them, and a rough price.
- Takes "avoid" seriously: it follows what to avoid, including the reason behind it, so "diabetic" rules out sweets and treats, not just chocolate.
- Right for their age: it never suggests grown-up gifts for under-18s, or games and films rated above their age.
- No repeats: it skips the presents you gave them before, so you don't give the same thing twice.
- Stockings too: "Suggest stocking fillers" does the same for each person's stocking, within the stocking budget.
- Add in a tap: tap Add to put an idea straight onto their list, then track it from idea to bought, wrapped and given.
Privacy
Only the details that matter for ideas are used. The person's name is never sent, and Chrimbo doesn't keep the details or the ideas afterwards. Plans are saved, encrypted, to each customer's own Chrimbo account, and are never sold or used for advertising. Full details are in the privacy policy.
"I wanted it to help without asking for more than it needs," says Hetty. "So it only uses the details that matter for ideas, never names, and nothing is kept afterwards."
